The B.Tech. in Computer Engineering program was introduced in the year 2000, with an initial intake of 30 seats. Over the years, the program has grown in both capacity and reputation, reflecting the increasing demand for skilled professionals in the field of computer science and engineering. Later the intake was expanded to 60 seats, and further increased to 70 seats by 2010, ensuring a greater number of students could benefit from the program’s offerings.
This undergraduate course is designed to equip students with a strong foundation in computer science, programming, and hardware systems, along with practical skills in software development, networking, and data analysis. The curriculum is continuously updated to stay in line with the latest technological advancements, providing students with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience.
The placement record of the Computer Engineering department is one of its most notable strengths. The program has consistently attracted top-tier companies like from the tech industry, including some of the most reputable names in the IT and software sectors. Leading corporations regularly visit the campus for recruitment drives, ensuring that students have access to excellent career opportunities upon graduation.
Through a blend of rigorous academics, practical training, and industry exposure, the B.Tech. in Computer Engineering prepares students to be highly competitive in the global job market, making it one of the most sought-after programs for aspiring engineers.
Students pursuing B. Tech. (Computer Engineering), upon earning an additional 18 credits, will be awarded an Honors degree. Additionally, a Minor degree program (Computer & Artificial Intelligence) is available to students from other branches, which can be earned by completing 18 credits from the Department of Computer Engineering.
