    In 2024, the Department of Computer Engineering launched a new and innovative program, B.Tech. Computer Science & Engineering (Data Science) in self-financing mode to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in the rapidly expanding field of data science and analytics. The program, with an intake capacity of 80 seats, is designed to provide students with the knowledge and practical expertise necessary to excel in the data-driven world of today’s industries.

    The curriculum is tailored to focus on core areas of data science, including data analysis, machine learning, artificial intelligence and big data technologies. Students will also gain hands-on experience with tools and technologies widely used in the field, such as Python, R, SQL and Hadoop, equipping them with the skills necessary to handle large datasets, derive actionable insights, and develop predictive models.

    The launch of this program comes in response to the growing industry demand for qualified data science professionals. Data Science is at the heart of decision-making in various sectors, including finance, healthcare, e-commerce, technology, and research, leading to a surge in job opportunities.
