Education and Classroom Philosophies

Our purpose is to provide a home away from home to infants and kids (1-4 years) of working mothers by giving them desired attention, love and affection, nurturing them in congenial and healthy surroundings.

We at the Day Care Centre (Crèche) make every effort to provide safe and healthy (just like home) environment to infants so that they grow and develop steadily. Our objective is to nurture the whole child - cognitively, physically, socially as well as emotionally.

Our main focus is to let them blossom in an in-inhibited, safe and stimulating environment, keeping in mind the overall development of a child, inculcating and developing proper and good habits related to health and hygiene, eating, walking, talking and social behaviours.

The Classroom Environment: Various researches have shown that children make deeper connection in comfortable, calming, home-like environments, surrounded by the beauty of the natural-world, so we provide a clean, safe and a well-planned school environment to the children. The school is equipped with the child-sized furniture, equipments, sinks and toilets that help the child develop self-reliance in taking care of his/her personal needs. Further the child’s learning experiences is enriched by the space we have created and the toys and equipments we have provided.

The Classroom Experience: We try to provide to the children, the time and materials to actively construct their own knowledge through self-directed learning activities. These experiences are supplemented with large group activities that focus on character education, physical fitness, science and a variety of curricular themes.

We support children’s active exploration and investigations through creative play activities. We give the child the opportunity to actively explore his/her environment and “play”.

Teacher-Child Interactions: The teachers observe and assess each child’s interests and levels of developing skills. It is through their careful observations that the teachers learn to adapt the environment and activities to meet each child’s needs effectively. It is through careful observation of the children in the classroom that the teachers try to create respectful, nurturing relationships that make children feel valued and cared for.

We believe that well supported and challenging opportunities give children the foundation that prepares them for elementary school and sets them on a path to life-long learning.

Transportation: Transportation facility is not provided by the Day Care Centre. Parent/guardian is required to drop and pick up their child on their own.

As, each child reacts differently to separation from his/her parents when coming to school each day therefore the daily transportation of the child from home to school and vice versa is a collaborative effort between the parent(s) and our staff members.

If this is the first time that the child is coming in a group setting, then parents are expected to make every effort to spend additional time in the beginning to help the child become comfortable in his/her new environment. Parents are allowed to sit with the child or move around the room while he/she explores the classroom. Young children have little experience with change and often need extra time to adjust.

Classroom transition: When the child is ready to move into a new classroom, we do all that we can to make the transition smooth and a successful one. We contact parents when we feel that the child is ready to move. The move is always be a combined decision of parents, teachers and management.

Programme Assessment: We continually assess all aspects of our program in a variety of ways which include classroom observations, quality assurance checks and parent surveys.

Staff Training: We have identified certain skills and competencies that the teachers must have to meet the child care and early education needs of the children. We support the professional development of our staff. Teachers are provided with a wide variety of in-service training and other resources to develop, maintain and update their teaching skills.

Audio-Visual Aids: Audio-visual CDs, cartoon movies, animated movies etc. will be shown to make the classroom learning more interesting and effective.
