OBJECTIVES OF EQUAL OPPORTUNITY CELL:
- To protect all the constitutional rights of the Disadvantaged Groups students/teaching and non-teaching staff members.
- To ensure that the University is inclusive, safe, and secure for the Disadvantaged Groups students/teaching and non-teaching staff members.
- To provide socio-emotional and academic support and mentoring for the students belonging to the Disadvantaged Groups through proper counselling and monitoring programme.
- To ensure implementation of Government’s policies and various schemes, programme, facilities and guidelines for Disadvantaged Groups students/teaching and non-teaching staff members.
- To ensure that students to avail the various opportunities of educational/academic programmes in the university.
- To ensure proper implementation of preventive measures and Laws against discrimination and atrocities, and for safeguards of students/teaching and non-teaching staff belonging to SCs/STs, OBCs, Women, Minorities and Differently Abled Persons categories.
- To circulate, publicize, facilitate, and monitor the implementation of all UGC and Government guidelines and instructions issued from time to time in reference to Disadvantaged Groups.
- To redress the grievances and complaints of the Disadvantaged Groups students/teaching and non-teaching staff within 15 days through a Grievances Redressal Committee (GRC) without compromising the safety, privacy and dignity of the complainant.
