ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Mathematics, Jamia Millia Islamia was established in 1971. Currently the Department offers two UG and three PG level courses namely, M.Sc. Mathematics with Computer Science, M.Sc. Tech. Industrial Mathematics with Computer Applications and M.Sc. Mathematics. The faculty members are actively engaged in the research areas of Differential Geometry, Functional Analysis, Algebra, Approximation Theory, Numerical Analysis, Fluid Dynamics, Dynamical Systems and Fracture Mechanics. The Department has produced a number of PhD and published a number of research papers in the journals of national and international repute. A research journal “JMI International Journal of Mathematical Sciences” is being published by the Department and publishes papers in Mathematics, Statistics and other areas of Mathematical Sciences. The Department got UGC-SAP (DRS-I) and also identified for support under FIST category by DST.
