Introduction
Prof. Sanjoy Hazarika with officials from NEHU, NEC and UGC after a 3-hr interaction with students, faculty and educationists on challenges facing NE students at the NEHU auditorium on 14 June 2013. Over 150 participants from all states of the region interacted with Hazarika,who is chairman of the Task Force to Promote Educational Opportunities and Welfare of Students from North East Region belonging to STs, SCs and PwDs, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and Director, Centre for North East Studies and Policy Research, Jamia Millia Islamia.
