DDU Kaushal Kendra

The Deen Dayal Upadhyay KAUSHAL (Knowledge, Acquisition and Upgradation of Skilled Human Abilities and Livelihood) Kendra, established at Jamia Millia Islamia in 2015, aims to cultivate a workforce equipped with practical skills to meet industry demands. Specifically geared towards creating employable, skilled technical health workers, the center introduced the B.Voc. Medical Laboratory Sciences (B.Voc. MLS) and B.Voc. Medical Electrophysiology (B.Voc. MEP) courses.

Aligned with the Skill India Programme spearheaded by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, these courses are accredited by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and follow a regular, full-time, credit-based, three-year degree structure equivalent to NSQF level 7. Emphasizing a holistic approach to education, the curriculum encompasses teaching, practical sessions, evaluative clinical training, and internships across various healthcare settings including hospitals, blood banks, and medical laboratories, as recommended by the UGC.

This skill-based education model not only enhances student's employability but also ensures they are well-prepared to meet the demands of the healthcare industry. Consequently, the employment rate for graduates from these programs has soared to an impressive 90% in previous batches, with the remaining 10% opting for further studies both within India and abroad.

In summary, the courses offered by DDU KAUSHAL Kendra at Jamia Millia Islamia not only equip students with practical skills but also empower them with the knowledge and experience needed to excel in their chosen fields, thereby contributing significantly to the nation's workforce development and higher education landscape.
